“'Feeling and Knowing the World”
“Teaching Hands” is a program that provides a creative curriculum for community integration and normalization for adult students with learning disorders, attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorders and a spectrum of developmental disabilities.
Method: a holistic approach to curriculum design, teaching and learning
- Engages the visual, tactile, and proprioceptive attentiveness to learn new skills
- Acknowledges the importance of using handiwork and crafts as a therapeutic method in developing the full potential of the creative, intellectual, emotional and social capacities of the self
